Spring Breakers co-stars James Franco and Selena Gomez are reuniting for a new film, although crushingly, it seems likely that this one will not feature any scenes of Franco singing Britney Spears’ ‘Everytime’ at a beautiful white piano.
Instead, the two will star together in an adaptation of John Steinbeck’s depression-era novel In Dubious Battle. We’re not familiar with that particular Steinbeck novel (The Grapes Of Wrath or GTFO), but per MTV, the story concerns:
“… a group of apple pickers in 1930s California who fight corrupt economic practices and stand up to The Man.”
James Franco will direct, because there is simply no better choice to direct a movie about “a group of apple pickers in 1930s California who fight corrupt economic practices and stand up to The Man” than James Franco.
The highly prestigious sausage fest of a cast also includes Bryan Cranston, Danny McBride, Ed Harris, Robert Duvall and Vincent D’Onofrio.
